We’re off and Running!

On January 2nd, my wife Amy administered the oath of office and I began four years of service as one of your new At-Large Rochester City Councilmembers.  In my speech afterwards, I thanked everyone that helped me win the election and talked about my love for Rochester’s history and the resilience of the people who live here today. Most importantly, I talked about my desire to contribute to the health of our city’s future.

In my first few weeks on the job, I completed orientation sessions with each City department and met many of the talented folks who work at City Hall. In addition, I joined two of the standing committees of City Council:

  • Parks and Public Works
  • Public Safety, Youth, and Recreation

I’m excited to start working on new initiatives to make Rochester a healthier city, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Beth Sieber has joined my team!

I am thrilled to have Beth Sieber working with me! She will be focusing on constituent services, legislative research, and communications. She will provide a presence in our City Hall office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons from noon to 4.

Beth’s career to-date has been in nonprofit leadership, with broad experience in local advocacy and government efforts.  She actively participated in the startup of the Community Advisory Council (CAC), which provides direct community input to the Rochester-Monroe Anti-Poverty Initiative (RMAPI) and other community-based programs.  Beth serves on the board of the Beechwood Neighborhood Coalition and has contributed toward the work of The Children’s Agenda, Great Schools for All, and the East Main Corridor Project.  You can learn more about her here.
